Keeping your skin blemish free can undoubtedly be a problem, and with all the pollution around and lousy eating habits, it is just not possible to
have a healthy glowing clear skin. Whether we are in our teens, twenties or middle-age, we all encounter different skin
problems especially when it comes to keeping the
skin clear and marks-free. Maintaining a healthy skin involves both preventions as well as skin treatments. Let us
find out how.
1. Use a moisturizer
Investing in a good moisturizer can go a long way in keeping your
skin healthy and blemish free. Find a moisturizer that suits your skin type and apply
it religiously to keep your skin feeling soft supple and wrinkle-free. Dryness can make acne appear
worse, rubbing a moisturizer can prevent
acne lesions. It helps to keep dehydration at
bay and helps your skin looking radiant and glowing.
2. Eat citrus fruits
Healthy skin comes from a healthy gut.
Eating citrus fruits like lemon, grapes
and oranges help bolster liver and kidney function. Also, they are rich in vitamin C which is useful in destroying free
radicals leaving your skin radiant and glowing.
3. Exfoliate
Our skin continually
regenerates with every skin cell having a lifespan of 27 days. Exfoliating removes those dead skin cells and
prevents them from building up on the surface of the skin and clogging pores.
Blemishes results from clogged pores. Hence exfoliating your skin once in a
while goes a long way in preventing blemishes. It also removes the layer of
dead cells on the surface of the skin giving it a rejuvenating glow.
4. Keep the hair away from your face.
Your hair contains dust and sebum which
when comes in contact with skin, can cause acne, breakouts and eventually
blemishes. Make sure you wash your hair regularly when you let it loose to
remove the dust and sebum. Tie your hair to prevent it from touching your face
when working in hot and humid conditions.
5. Don’t pop our own pimples.
Picking up at pimples and trying to pop
them can result in marks and blemishes that are hard to get rid of. It is
tempting to pop pimples and squeeze blackheads but doing this can cause
irreparable damage to the skin. When you squeeze out a pimple, the bacteria contained in it spread out to other skin cells or gets pushed deeper inside the
pore resulting in more massive, more
painful pimple and new acne lesions or
worse leaving behind a scar.
6. Get good sleep
The better you sleep, the better your body
functions thereby improving the appearance of your skin. Try to sleep on your
back to avoid your face getting in contact with the pillow which might have
caught dust and pollen. This prevents skin irritation and acne.
7. Brew some tea
Green tea is pretty much the solution to
all your beauty problems. It contains anti-inflammatory properties that can be
used topically for a plethora of skin issues like acne, breakouts, dryness,
white and dark patches and sunburn. The caffeine found in tea reduces the
appearance of dark circles under the eyes.
8. Wash your face and avoid hot water.
Wash your face time to time to remove the
dust sitting on your face. It also removes excess oil which might result in
acne and blemishes later. Avoid using hot water
to wash your face as it robs the skin of natural oil and moisture and
makes it dry resulting in flaky, acne-prone
skin.
9. Use sunscreen
You can’t avoid going in the sun, but the most you can do is use a sunscreen with
a good SPF. Sun’s rays cause painful
burns and spots on your skin making it dull. Exposure
to the sun for a more extended
period of time makes breakouts worse. Use a good
sunscreen with SPF 30 or more and apply it 30 minutes before going out as it
takes time to absorb in the skin. Reapply it every 3-4 hours as it fades away
with time.
10. Celebrity procedures with DKS
Last but not the
least, get an appointment with a reputed cosmetologist like Dr. Kartik’s. The celebrity skin program from
